How Michael Jordan Used Bodyweight Exercises To Build Explosive Power!
If Henry Ford had asked people what they wanted when he decided to build the Model T, they would have told him “faster horses”. Thats just the way life is. Often people only really “get” that they “need” something when its shown to them, their friends or neighbours have it, and then life simply starts looking too difficult without it.
This is where the bodyweight exercises comes in. It has proven to be one of the most flexible, adaptable and effective training programs on the planet, and has been adopted by top athletes and warriors for centuries in order to produce the results that made them great, yet its only now reaching broad appeal as it has been revealed as the secret ingredient of great training.
Two things normally need to happen before an undiscovered treasure becomes discovered. One, people need to find out about it, (and now you have) and two, it needs to be validated by movers and shakers, people who know people or are known by people as knowing their stuff – Blink, Malcolm Gladwell.
So, to satisfy social proof, enter Boxing Champion Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather, and basketball Hall of Fame Legend Michael Jordan

What bodyweight exercises do you use besides pushups, pull ups and dips?
I use a lot of different bodyweight exercises. I still rely on the classical three. Just wondering which one’s do you guys use.
Hanging ab crunches….
bodyweight exercises?
does anybody know some bodyweight exercises for my whole body?
Probably the best one is the standard push-up. It’s a core exercise, because it incorporates your entire body, with emphasis on the pectorals and triceps. By changing your hand placement, you can also focus more on tri’s only (hands close together), chest only (wide hand placement) and even delts ( hands even with the head)
It’s difficult to injure yourself doing push-ups, they require no equipment and, most importantly, they work!!!
You might also want to add some close grip, as well as wide grip, pull-ups to work your back and biceps more, and some squats and seated chairs (against a wall) to work your legs. Add some crunches and leg raises, and you have a total body workout with no equipment and utilizing only your bodyweight.
I actually do this workout when I travel and the hotel doesn’t have an adequate gym. Good luck.
Is it possible to achieve the same results with bodyweight exercises as opposed to the gym?
So I am very thin, so I know I have to work out.
I was wondering whether it is still possible to get same results if you do bodyweight exercises (squats, situps, pushups) as opposed to going to a gym, using dumbells, etc? This is because for personal reasons, going to a gym is just not possible.
But I still need to take care of my body.
No, there’s a reason why gyms are full of weights. It’s because extra weight is required to build muscle strength beyond that of lifting body weight. It doesn’t matter what the exercise is, if you’re trying to build muscle size, you will eventually have to add extra weight. That applies to pushups, dips, crunches, pullups, etc. It is the resistance against which the muscle works that determines the muscle’s size.
That’s said, it’s not necessary to go to a gym to lift weight. You can do a lot with a cheap set of dumbells purchased for $1 per pound from Craig’s list or a 5 gallon water bottle or a back pack full of sand. You just need to be creative and have the determination.
It’s worth mentioning that diet is also important so, if you’re thin, you may want to work on eating properly as well as weight training. And, if you’re a naturally skinny (ectomorph) teen and/or a female, you may not have much potential for muscle gain.

How much Muscle in pounds can you build with bodyweight exercises?
I want a rough estimate to how many pounds of muscle can I build with just bodyweight exercises if you are weak to start off with them. I am overweight and I’m planning on building some muscle and losing fat from bodyweight exercises. Will I be able to get abs and a defined, muscular body just by doing bodyweight exercises? When I say defined, muscular body, I’m thinking maybe 25% of the muscle Arnold Schwarzenegger had when he was bodybuilding.
Do you plan on doing any cardiovascular work along with the exercises? you can lose the body-fat and uncover the muscle you already have. You can also tone up the muscles you already have by conditioning exercises like push-ups, pull-ups, lunges, crunches etc.
The average male can naturally only put on 12-15 lbs of lean muscle in a years time. Without strength training with resistance, I’d say you could tone up your existing muscle and probably put on a few (5-7) pounds of additional muscle in a year. Doing the cardio to burn the fat is the most important thing you can do to shed the fat. In fact you would have to do it in order to accomplish your goal. Eating healthy is key as well. I like to recommend the 40-30-30 plan. 40% carbs, 30 % Protein, and 30% fat. Except for dinner, I then suggest only a lean meat and green veggies (low carbs). Don’t need them at night, you want your body to burn fat then. My clients saw great results with this. Good Luck Hope this helps.
and ASK ME ANYTHING…… where did you get your info, cuz you’re way off base pal!
